Glider project in Science

We did an experiment in science, where we made gliders. We have been studying birds wings and how the air lifts them. So with this glider experiment we had two different gliders, both made out of the same material but one had a short, fat wing and the other a long, narrow wing. We took them outside to see which one would fly the farthest. Our results were: The long, narrow wing flew further. Why? Mostly due to the way the air travels around the ends of a wing. The longer and narrower the wing, the less the drag, so it will go further. What a great experiment.

Two thumbs up, my friend! Don't you just love being able to get outside and educate?
